ETHNO is a project of Jeunesses Musicales International. It offers young people from all over the world the opportunity to meet in respect, tolerance and openness through traditional music from different cultures. ETHNO includes workshops, jam sessions, seminars and performances, through which young people who are enthusiastic about music are encouraged both in their personalities and as musicians.
Intercultural exchange and peer-to-peer pedagogy based on traditional folk music are the core qualities of ETHNO. The unique programme includes music camps in 14 European countries as well as India, Australia and Uganda, plus other activities such as ETHNO on the Road, ETHNO in School and ETHNOFonik.
Since 2017, the JMD has been offering the ETHNO Leader advanced training with comprehensive materials in order to make the qualities of the ETHNO concept accessible to music education in general education schools and music schools and to provide an impulse for a local musical community with ETHNO...

n 2013, the JMD brought ETHNO to Germany. Since then, the international ETHNO Camp with musicians and dancers from all over the world has taken place annually at Thallichtenberg Castle . In an eye-to-eye exchange, they explore a diverse cultural heritage and keep it alive.
