Blanche Marguerite

France & Germany | Melody

Blanche began her musical journey in childhood with classical violin training, but it wasn’t long before she fell in love with the sounds of French folk music. After a few detours (including the bagpipes), she discovered her true calling in the Nyckelharpa, a Swedish folk instrument. She spent a year at the Eric Sahlström Institute in Sweden, immersing herself in the traditions and techniques of Swedish folk music. Today, her focus is on Swedish folk traditions, yet her musical explorations have taken her far beyond. Drawing inspiration from a variety of musical styles, her repertoire and artistic projects have flourished on an international scale—thanks in large part to Ethno. Ethno has filled her life with music and joy, offering much more than just new melodies. It has allowed her to travel to new places, build lasting friendships, and connect with diverse cultures through the universal language of music. Since 2022, she has been organizing and mentoring Ethno gatherings, driven by her passion for providing young musicians with the opportunity to embark on this unique and enriching musical journey.

Lucija Maroevic

Croatia | Voice

Lucija Maroevic was born in Zagreb, where she has been involved in music since kindergarten, primarily singing in choirs. She studied Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and German Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, and during her studies she discovered the concept of Ethno camps, which she has been actively working on for almost 10 years. She visited several Ethno camps and similar music gatherings as volunteer, participant, and mentor, in 2021 she participated in the training for artistic directors Ethnofonik, and since 2022 she has been the project coordinator and resident artistic mentor of Ethno Croatia. Her musical creativity primarily includes the preservation and reinterpretation of traditional music, and she achieves this by organizing and conducting vocal workshops, working in ethno and world music ensembles, she is the artistic director of the choir Domacigosti (local guests) and the founder and artistic director of men’s vocal ensemble Kitice. Since 2024 she also works as a producer at Jeunesses Musicales Croatia.

Jonas Malfliet

Belgium | Harmony

Jonas Malfliet broke his little finger when he was three years old. Nothing too bad, his mother said. The only thing he won't be able to do, is become a professional musician. However, it turns out he quite stubbornly didn't want to listen to his mother, and nowadays cannot keep his fingers off the black and white keys! He pops up with his accordion in world music groups such as Damast Duo and Jiraan (with Syrian violinist Shalan Alhamwy), and the eight-piece belgo-brazilian party band Euforró. He accompanies theater productions and is artistic leader on several international music camps. Furthermore, he enjoys nothing more than jamming 1001 nights with musicians from the most diverse traditions, trying to figure out what music he likes to play best. Nobody knows which tune he’s going to play next, least of all himself. But one thing’s for sure: you’re in for a surprise.

Eduardo Scaramuzza

Brazil | percussion

Eduardo Scaramuzza is a Brazilian percussionist based in Stavanger - Norway, with MA in Jazz and Improvisation from UiS. Currently performing with Mbirofonia Duo, Tesî, Orun quartet and working as a composer/producer for Estuary Ensemble. His artistic research includes sound design, a sonic exploration of daily objects, traditional percussion instruments, collaboration with contemporary dancers/choreographers. Scaramuzza defines the variety of sounds in his practices as a toolbox used to communicate with the audience, investigate collaborative work between artists and create new Music. Scaramuzza joined his first Ethno as a participant in 2015, and after that, he joined 11 Ethnos.
